After a career in Business and in the Voluntary sector spanning 30 years I became Chief Executive Officer of Capability Scotland. Under my leadership Capability undertook an influencing role in order to campaign for better laws and services for those experiencing disability. I am committed to an open, honest and transparent system of governance, to the delivery of high quality care to those who require such and to developing, with others the required strategies to meet the aims and objectives of Freespace. A major area of activity is my involvement with Disability Sport where I held a number of positions within the Cerebral palsy International Sports and Recreation Association. I was elected and served on the Governing Board of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) from 2005 to 2013. I also chaired the Legal and Ethics Committee of the IPC. In 2012 I retired as CEO and moved to Germany where I live with my German wife. I also serve on the Board of The Yard and travel to Scotland regularly.
